International biodiversity assessment consultation launched

A consultation is now open for the draft work programme of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Deadline 28 July.  
IPBES held its first plenary meeting in January 2013, following about 8 years of consultation.

A 2nd plenary will take place December 2013. An intersessional consultative process has been put in place to seek input from interested governments and other stakeholders ahead of this meeting to comment on the DRAFT WORK PROGRAMME.

Several documents are on the IPBES website for online consultation, with a deadline of 28 July.

A consultation mechanism has been set up across the International Council for Science to allow all interested ICSU entities to comment, with a deadline of 17 July.
